Our Story
A high profile military defense lawyer and frequent media consultant, Michael Waddington began building and promoting web sites as a law student at Temple University in 1997. By 2000, he was married, the proud dad of two, and living on a shoestring budget while he and his wife finished law school.
A natural when it came to web design and online marketing, Michael took the reigns of online marketing for GN Diamond from 1998-2002 while finishing law school. One of the nation’s largest jewelry wholesalers, it was a period of rapid growth for the company due in part to its strong Internet presence. Other clients included the famed Gold Nugget Jewelers, Philadelphia’s largest and official jeweler for the Philadelphia Flyers and 76ers.
Serving the country as an Army JAG officer
Michael continued his marketing career during service as an Army JAG lawyer at Fort Gordon, Georgia, while his wife, Alexandra, focused on raising their children, working as public defender before opening her own practice in 2005. As a military defense attorney both in the Army and private practice, Michael carved out a distinguished career with a number of high profile cases that have been the subject of books and movies, including “Taxi to the Dark Side,” which won the 2007 Academy Award for Best Documentary, “Brian De Palma’s “Redacted,” and a major CNN Documentary, “Killings at the Canal”
He has been reported on and quoted by hundreds of major media sources worldwide and provided consultation services to “60 Minutes,” “ABC Nightline,” “CNN Investigative Reports,” CBS, BBC, German Public Television, as well as the award-winning CBS Drama “The Good Wife.”
Private Practice
When Michael joined Alexandra in private practice in 2006, the couple decided to cut dollars wasted on traditional but outmoded marketing in the phone book, radio, billboards, and the newspaper. Instead, they put Michael’s Internet expertise to work with phenomenal results. Alexandra soon had the top ranked family law website in Augusta, Georgia, and Michael’s military law practice took off to the top of Google’s rankings as well. And the resulting profits took off as well.
Legal Niche Pros
In 2009, they formed Legal Niche Pros to offer SEO and online marketing services to other local lawyers, who quickly saw increased profits as they began to dominate the online market. Since then, Legal Niche Pros has grown to serve clients across the United States and around the world.
While the couple continues to oversee successful private practices, the success of Legal Niche Pros has given them the flexibility to move to Alexandra’s native Puerto Rico, where they now reside close to family as they raise two young children.
